EAST RIVER VALLEY SHARED USED TRAIL (May 2008)
The Pictou County ATV, and Trails & Tales ATV Clubs along with the
East River Valley Community Development Association (ERVCDA) has taken on the project, first stage of CLEARING BRUSH ONLY of the Rail Line Bed with written Authority from DNR.
This brush clearing is being done to asset the rail bed and to put forward a proposal to open a Multi-Use Trail for all to use and enjoy.
This is going to be a long term project which runs a long side the banks of the East River for most of the 18 - 20 km from Eureka to Sunny Brae. The Rail Bed crosses five highway roads, one each in Eureka, Springville, Bridgeville, St. Paul’s and Sunny Brae.
Also this trail should give access to many side trails along the way.
We are having a work party Saturday May 24, 2008 9:00am Meeting at the Bridgeville Fire Hall. All are welcome to come along and help out. Looking for people with chainsaws and any other tools for cutting brush, and people to help remove the brush
